Job Description

Our client is a US multinational bank who is looking for a VP, Legal Counsel to be responsible for day-to-day legal coverage within their Private Bank. The overall objective of this role is to provide legal support, advice and guidance across a broad range of practice areas within their Private Banking space. The ideal candidate will be working within a well-structured team reporting to a very experienced General Counsel in the Private Banking / Wealth Management department.


  • Provide legal support for their APAC region for their traditional products within the Private Bank, including personalised financial and investment services
  • Must have good understanding of general private banking investment strategies and financing options for HNWI
  • Partner with business/functional line management in recommending, developing and executing global private banking products in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in Asia Pacific, U.S. and EMEA
  • Coordinate resources to meet business needs across different functions and geographies and ensure efficient delivery of legal services to the business
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding the group and, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of the business and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards


  • 3-6 years of experience
  • Banking/financial industry experience or experience from big law firm in the banking & finance space
  • Proven analytical and organizational skills
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Bar license in good standing to practice law
  • Law degree from a common law jurisdiction
