Description: Rank : Programmer Office : Information Technology Department, Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (HKCH), Kowloon Central Cluster Pay : HK$25,972 to HK$39,671 per month (including Monthly Allowance) [HGPS Point 10 to 18] (See remarks 2) Key Responsibilities: Responsible for the development and maintenance of business application systems in hospital. Provide help for implementation, maintenance, testing and modification of IT solutions in areas of responsibility. Provide technical & user support on IT solutions in areas of responsibility. Assist in documentation of user specification, system changes and enhancement. Assist to liaise with users, contractors and other IT teams for system maintenance. Assist to maintain system documentations and reports. Prepare user guide and conduct user training. Provide after-office-hours system support. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors. Entry R e quirement: Degree in Computer Science or relevant disciplines; or equivalent. Preferred Attributes / Exposure 2 years’ post qualification working experience in IT or related fields. System development experience on web, mobile applications and hospital clinical systems using .NET and MS SQL platform. Self-initiated, self-motivated and able to work independently. Strong analytical skills with strong technical proficiency. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Remarks: For Serving HA Staff The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for 1 - 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee may be offered contract employment with an up to 15% total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance. Serving permanent employee will be offered fixed term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies. For External Applicants Appointment will be on contract terms for 1 - 3 years. Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA. For All Applicants Selected candidate may require to work over-night shifts and /or provide 24-hour on call support, and when necessary, provide on-site support services at different hospitals. Renewal of contract will depend on funding, operational needs and appointee’s performance. Selected candidate may be required to work in another work location to meet service needs of the HA.
