Description: Office Department of Integrated Rehabilitation Centre, Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, Kowloon Central Cluster Post A - Physiotherapy service Post B - Occupational Therapy service Post C - Dietetics service Pay HK$17,888 – HK$22,357 per month (Please see Remarks 5) Key Responsibilities: Post A - Physiotherapy service To assist Physiotherapists to: Prepare and carry out treatment activities for physically ill patients. Assist in arranging equipment and prepare patients for assessment and treatments. Provide technical assistance and taking care / observation of patients during assessment and treatment procedures. Assist in transportation of patients and equipment. Assist in inventory control and procurement process. Maintenance of treatment areas, equipment, tools and materials conducive to treatment. To provide technical assistance and support to Physiotherapists in: Computer assisted equipment and in making therapeutic devices. Running of therapeutic computer assisted rehabilitation programmes and computer training groups. To assist in hydrotherapy and hydrotherapy pool maintenance. To assist in triage, out-patient registration, appointment booking, reception duties, collection of revenue and handle patient enquiries. To perform independent operation of computers and data input for rehabilitation and clinical management purpose. To perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors. Post B - Occupational Therapy service To assist Occupational Therapists to: Prepare venue and equipment for treatment. Facilitate patients to participate in individual session(s) and group session(s). Carry out therapeutic activities, outreach services and rehabilitation groups under OT’s supervision. Maintain cleanliness, tidiness of clinical areas and workshops of Occupational Therapy. Assist in maintenance of equipment, tools and materials of treatment. Assist in inventory checking, stock maintenance and procurement process. To provide technical assistance and support to Occupational Therapists in: Development of material for educational program and therapeutic activities. Production of sewing projects, pressure garments and assistive devices for patients. Fabrication of rehabilitation devices, adapt equipment and furniture to facilitate rehabilitation outcome. Knowledge and skills in metalwork (optional). To perform independent operation of computers and data input for rehabilitation and clinical management purpose. To perform appointment booking, collection of revenue and handle patient enquiries. To perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors . Post C - Dietetics service To assist therapists in performing nutrition screening and collecting information for nutrition assessment. To perform anthropometric measurements for patients. To prepare educational materials for clinical / community dietetic activities. To perform independent operation of computer and data processing. To collect, verify, compile service statistics and reports, manage patient record system and retrieve patient data from in-house computer systems. To conduct audits for Dietetic Department. To prepare and update hospital documents as assigned. To lead university volunteers in tasks assigned by therapists. To assist in inventory control of infant formula and supplemental drinks. To perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors. Entry Requirements 1. Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent; 2. Completed structured departmental training (See Remarks 5) Preferred Attributes For all posts Obtained certificate/ received relevant training in Occupational Therapy/ Physiotherapy/ Rehabilitation service or equivalent. Holding certificate of the Health Care Assistant Course / Care-related Support Worker Course accredited by HA. (See Remarks 10). Possess working experience in patient care. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Pleasant and mature with strong sense of responsibility. Able to work independently, with good communication and interpersonal skills. Post A - Physiotherapy service Knowledge of basic computer operations and data processing. Post B - Occupational Therapy service Sound knowledge and skills in sewing, or metal work & woodwork; and basic computer applications. Post C - Dietetics service Preferably with 2 years or above work experience in nutrition/ dietetics area. Remarks For Serving HA Staff The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for 1 - 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. The offer of salary for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be determined based on the remuneration package / employment terms of the staff concerned and prevailing policies. For External Applicants Appointment will be on contract terms for 1 - 3 years . 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA. For All Applicants Renewal of contract will depend on funding, operational needs and appointee’s performance. Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (2), if find suitable, will be employed to undergo at least 6 months’ on the job training including the structured departmental training. During the training period, the staff will be appointed as Patient Care Assistant IIIA at a monthly salary of HK$14,958 to provide service and to receive the training. After the training period of at least 6 months and passing the end of training assessment on skills and performance, the staff will be appointed as Patient Care Assistant II at a monthly salary of HK$17,888. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training. The selected candidate may be required to work irregular hour and perform shift duties. The selected candidate may be required to perform 24-hour shift duty and to perform duties during typhoons, rainstorms and other emergencies. The selected candidate may be required to wear uniform, N-95 mask and personal protective equipment when discharging duties. May be required to work in another work location to meet service needs of the HA.
