Description: Office: Medical Social Service Department, United Christian Hospital Pay: HK$35,985 to HK$79,606 per month (including Monthly Allowance) [HGPS Pt 16-33] (Please see Remarks 2) Key Responsibilities: 1. Provide psycho-social assessment, intervention and counseling. 2. Render pre-admission, discharge planning services and post discharge follow up. 3. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to serve patient with welfare needs. 4. Crisis intervention. 5. Network with community resources. 6. Plan and provide patient group services and run mass programmes. 7. Conduct and participate in activities related to continuous quality improvement and service evaluation. 8. Conduct empirical research and participate in services related activities. 9. Any job-related duties assigned by supervisor. Entry Requirements: 1. (a) A degree in Social Work from a local university, or equivalent. OR (b) A degree from a local university, or equivalent and have successfully completed a one-year post-graduate course in Social Work at a local university, or equivalent. OR (c) A degree from a local university, or equivalent and have successfully completed a two-year post-graduate course in Social Work or possess a Master’s degree in Social Work from a local university, or equivalent. 2. Registration with and a valid registration certificate issued by the Hong Kong Social Workers Registration Board. 3. (a) Grade E in English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent. OR (b) Level 2 in English Language and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education, or equivalent. 4. Fluency in written English and Chinese as well as spoken English and Cantonese. Preferred Attributes / Exposure: 1. Strong commitment and drive to help patients and their families 2.
