Description: Rank: Occupational Safety Hygienist II Office: Occupational Safety and Health, Quality and Safety Division, Queen Mary Hospital Pay: HK$34,260 to HK$60,421 per month (including Monthly Allowance) [HGPS Point 15 to 27] (See Remarks 2) Job As a member of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Team in Hong Kong West Cluster (HKWC), the incumbent will support several aspects of the following areas: Provide support on the implementation of cluster OSH management system, OSH initiatives and improvement programmes. Conduct OSH inspections, trainings, risk assessments and monitoring. Provide executive and secretarial support to the Team and OSH Committees. Maintain cluster OSH website. Manage the inventory of OSH Equipment. Support ad hoc projects and any other duties as assigned. Requirements A university degree in science/ engineering or equivalent. Preferred Attributes/Exposure A university degree in science should be preferably in the areas of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, OSH, Healthcare or equivalent. Recognized training by Labour Department for registration as Safety Officer. Working experience in healthcare sector. Relevant experience in hazardous substances exposure assessment and risk control strategy a definite advantage. Hands-on experience in PC skills such as MS Office, Excel & PowerPoint. Proficiency in programing language and development software such as Adobe Dreamweaver or Adobe Photoshop. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Hardworking and committed to quality services. Self-motivated, meticulous and attentive to details and accuracy. Able to work independently. Remark Remarks For Serving HA Staff Selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee will be offered contract employment with an up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance. Serving permanent employee will be offered a fixed term appointment with a reversion clause according to prevailing policies. The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies. For External Applicants Appointment will be on contract terms for 3 years. Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply.
