Description: Office : Department of Medicine and Geriatrics, New Territories West Cluster (NTWC) Pay : HK$17,888 – HK$22,357 per month (see Remarks 2, 5) Job : 1. Provide direct patient care such as changing napkin, transfer and escort patient, measure patient’s vital signs and other physical parameters including blood pressure, pulse rate, respiration rate, weight and height, urine testing, etc 2. Prepare patient for investigation, physical examination and nursing procedures. 3. Collect and send out specimen 4. Perform ECG 5. Assist nursing staff in setting trolley for procedures under aseptic technique. 6. Prepare, handle and disinfection of instruments, equipment, furniture, medical consumables, and related items for nursing procedures. 7. Assist in the housekeeping of consumables, equipment, accessories of equipment, and daily supplies to ensure all records are updated, and good store management. And keep reasonable ward stock level ensuring a smooth operation. 8. Assist in management of Medical Equipment Maintenance and repair. To prepare for regular maintenance procedure, i.e. battery charging etc. To be responsible for equipment repairs logistic procedure and record keeping and report to nurse in-charge To assist in periodical preventive maintenance check and keep record thereof. To assist in keeping and monitoring tracking system of medical equipment. To perform regular stock checking and assist in annual inventory stocktaking To perform daily and terminal disinfection, re-assembly pre-use checking and storage of medical equipment; i.e. ventilator, physiological monitor, infusion pumps endoscope heart-lung machine etc 9. Assist in checking for OSH, e.g. environment safety checking, chemical checking, hosits checking, etc. 10. Collect blood and blood product from blook bank 11. Perform clinical related duties as assigned by supervisors Requirements : 1. Completed F.5/ S.5 or equivalent, & 2. Completed structured departmental training. (see Remarks 5) Preferable Attributes/ Exposure: 1. Holder of accredited Health Care Assistant or Care-related Support Workers (CRSW) certificate. * 2. Good command of written and spoken in Chinese and English. 3. Good communication and interpersonal skills. 4. The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for 1-3 year(s) depending on his/her existing employment terms. 2. The offer of salary to serving employees upon changes in appointment will be determined based on the remuneration package/employment terms of the staff concerned and prevailing policies. For External Applicants 3. 4. Selected candidate will be offered contract terms for 1-3 years. 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon satisfactory completion of contract. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA. For All Applicants 5. Applicants who do not meet entry requirement 2 , if find suitable, will be employed to undergo at least 6 months’ on the job training. During the training period, they will be appointed as Patient Care Assistant IIIA with monthly salary of HK$14,958. After the training period of at least 6 months and passing the end of training assessment on skills and with satisfactory performance, they will be appointed as Patient Care Assistant II with monthly salary of HK$17,888. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training. 6. Job rotation would be arranged for the selected candidate if required. 7. Selected candidate may be required to perform 24-hour shift duty and to perform duties during typhoons, rainstorms and other emergencies. 8. Required to wear uniform and other personal protective equipment. 9. Selected candidate will be posted in Pok Oi Hospital and may be required to work in another work location to meet service needs of the HA. 10.
