Description: Rank : Clerk II I Office : Health Records & Informatics Office P amela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital / Hong Kong East Cluster Pay : HK$15,751 to HK$24,518 (HGPS Pt 2 to Pt 9) per month including Monthly Allowance (See Remarks 3) Key Responsibilities: 1. Release patient information in line with the provisions of Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. 2. Assist in patient registration, appointment bookings, cash handling and clerical duties. 3. Provide administrative support, including liaison with internal and external parties, handling of correspondences. 4. Handle enquiry from internal and external stakeholders. 5. Perform typing, word processing and/or Chinese word processing. 6. Perform record retrieval, return, filing and record keeping. 7. Perform death documentation service. 8. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s). Entry Requirements: 1. (a) Passes in 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination including English Language (Syllabus B), Chinese Language and Mathematics, or equivalent. OR (b) 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education attaining the level specified below: Level 2 in English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics; and Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects/ “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects/ Grade E in Other Language subjects; or equivalent. 2. Ability to perform typing, word processing and/or Chinese word processing. Preferred Attributes: 1. Knowledge of HA IT systems, including but not limited to Medical Records Tracing System (MRTS), Out-patient Appointment System (OPAS) and Inpatient Administrative System (IPAS). 2. Knowledge of common office automation (e.g. E-mail, Internet/Intranet etc.) and PC applications (e.g. Word processing, Excel, Access & PowerPoint). 3. Clerical experience with good knowledge of the functions and operations in one or more of the following areas: (i) Health informatics and record management. (ii) Patient services, including patient registration, enquiries, counter services. 4. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. 5. Knowledge of other dialects (e.g. Mandarin) in the light of individual job requirement. 6. Good communication and organization skills, multi-tasking and able to work independently under pressure. Remarks: For Serving HA Staff 1. Serving Staff who has completed F.5/S.5 or equivalent and have 2 years’ clerical experience within HA may also be considered. 2. Selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for up to 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. (a)Contract employee - will be offered contract employment with an up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as contract-end gratuity upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. ​​​​​​​ (b)Permanent employee - will be offered a fixed term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. 3. The offer of salary and allowance (Cash allowance, Fixed-flexi allowance or Monthly allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be determined based on the remuneration package / employment terms of the staff concerned and prevailing policies. For External Applicants 4. Selected candidate will be offered contract term appointment for up to 3 years. Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as contract-end gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. 5. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply.
