Description: No. of V acancy: 1 Pay HK$190,576 - HK$240,255 (HGPS Point 50 – 51B) per month including Monthly Allowance (See Remarks 2) Responsibilities 1. Provide specialist services. 2. Supervise Residents undergoing specialist training. 3. Undertake administrative work. 4. Undergo continuing medical education and professional development. Entry Requirements 1. A qualification registrable in Hong Kong under the Medical Registration Ordinance; and 2. Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Paediatrics) or equivalent; and 3. Registered in the Specialist Register in the relevant specialty of the Medical Council of Hong Kong. Preferred Attributes / Exposure 1. Staff members in the rank are expected to meet the 4 core competencies set for the Consultant post. They are: i. F unctional competency. ii. P ersonal competency. iii. P eople and team competency. iv. O rganization effectiveness. 2. Holding the trainer status of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians is preferred. Remarks The post is required to provide specialist servic es in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology. For Serving HA Staff 1. T he selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for 1 - 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee may be offered contract employment with up to 15% total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance. Serving permanent employee will be offered fixed term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. 2. T he offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies. 3. S enior Medical & Health Officer, if qualified and selected for appointment will convert to Consultant in the new structure. 4. C onsultant in the old structure, if qualified and selected for appointment may elect to convert to Consultant in the new structure or remain in his/her current employment terms. 5. S taff in the Medical grade who is on civil service terms will, if selected, be appointed under the Shadow Promotion Scheme. For External Applicants 6. A ppointment will be on contract terms for 1 - 3 years . Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. 7. R etiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA. For All Applicants 8.
