Description: Hospital : Caritas Medical Centre Pay : HK$ 52 , 722 - $ 79 , 606 (HGPS point 24 - 33 ) per month including Monthly Allowance. (See remarks Item 2) Key Responsibilities: Mainly deployed on: The administration, organisation and day-to-day operation of a hospital’s in-house laundry or a separate centralised laundry. The training of laundry staff in modern laundry techniques. The management of linen and uniform services including linen and uniform development, modification and mending services. The management of auto-refill services for linen items provided to wards and departments. The management of the hospital’s linen store operation, including linen and uniform procurement, linen stock management, linen supply to frontline departments and wards for supporting their daily operation, etc. Entry Requirements: A Higher Certificate in Textiles and Clothing, Mechanical Engineering or Production and Industrial Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic or a technical institute, or equivalent. Have had considerable experience in the industry and years of experience at the level of Assistant Laundry Manager or equivalent. Capable of working in a supervisory capacity. Able to speak and write English at a standard equivalent to Grade E in English Language (Syllabus B) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination; or Level 2 in English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education; and have fluent Cantonese and written Chinese. Preferred attributes : Good interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Responsible, self-motivated, and capable to work independently. Committed to achieving continuous quality improvement. Sound knowledge of occupational safety and health and its application in the industry. Proficiency in computer operation in MS Office, MS Excel, Chinese word processing, etc . Remarks: For Serving HA Staff The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment up to 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee will be offered contract employment with an up to 15% total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of- contract gratuity, subject to satisfactory completion of the contract. Serving permanent employee will be offered fixed term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies. For External Applicants Selected candidate will be offered contract term appointment up to 3 years . Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA.
