Entry Requirements:

Candidates should –

(a) have working experience of Chinese cooking for large number of people; and
(b) be able to speak fluent Cantonese and write simple Chinese or simple English.

Duties:

A Cook is mainly deployed on:

(a) preparing and cooking of Chinese meals for police officers and police formations; and
(b) keeping the kitchen clean.

[Note: Cook (Chinese Cooking) may be required to –
(1) work shifts and irregular hours;
(2) wear cook’s dress; and
(3) work in remote areas (e.g. Sha Ling, Sha Tau Kok, Ta Kwu Ling, Lok Ma Chau and Lantau Island).]

Terms of Appointment:

A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
