Entry Requirements:

(a) A bachelor’s degree in information technology (IT), computing science or other related disciplines from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent;

(b) At least 20 years of post-qualification full-time working experience in the IT field with at least 15 years at IT managerial level;
© Strong technical knowledge in application development, design and operation of computer systems and provision of IT services for the Government, and with at least 15 years of such working experience;
(d) Strong leadership, analytical, coordination and interpersonal skills;
(e) Ample managerial experience in working with multiple operational teams;
(f) Self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks and work independently under pressure and tight schedule; and
(g) Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English.

Duties:

(a) To undertake managerial role in overseeing the technical executive support to the development, testing and implementation stages for the system enhancement of a critical system so that the enhancements can be delivered within scheduled timeframe and meet the required quality standard;

(b) To provide overall guidance and direction to steer the activities of the project team;
© To ensure that the internal technical resources for the project are made available according to the work plan, and to take responsibilities for the use of resources, initiate corrective action in a timely manner where necessary;
(d) To provide professional and management advice where applicable on the technical aspects;
(e) To formulate and implement government IT policies and strategy, as well as set standards, in particular those related to information security and integrity, for the enhancements of the critical system; and
(f) To manage the contractors and parties concerned to ensure their timely delivery of quality products/services relating to the enhancements of the critical system.

Terms of Appointment:

Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of 6 months.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
