Description: Office : Ambulatory Care Centre, New Territories West Cluster (NTWC) Pay: HK$17,888 - $22,357 per month (see Remarks 3, 6) Job: 1. Handle patient / public enquiries. 2. Measure patient’s vital signs and other physical parameters: blood pressure and pulse rate, respiration rate, body weight and body height, Body Mass Index, SPO2, visual acuity, glucostix, urine testing, ECG, etc. 3. 4. Assist doctor during clinic consultation such as transfer record, equipment handling, chaperoning, patient positioning & specimen handling etc. Discharge out-patient such as providing instruction on blood taking, specimen collection, investigation and appointment booking, handling referral, etc. 5. Collect and send out specimen. 6. Trace and retrieve laboratory test results, investigation reports and films from Department of Health, Electro Medical Diagnostic Unit, Nuclear Medicine Unit and Radiology Department. 7. Prepare patient for investigation, physical examination and nursing procedure. 8. Provide low complexity care to patient such as changing napkin, transfer and escort patient, etc. 9. Provide preventive maintenance and disinfection of equipment. 10. Regular check stock of equipment and consumables and responsible for regular ordering. 11. Maintain environment clean and tidy. 12. Perform clerical duties such as performing statistic, filing, refill form, top-up education pamphlet and counter work. 13. Handling clinical waste and confidential waste paper 14. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements: 1. Completed F.5/ S.5 or equivalent (see Remarks 1) , & 2. Completed relevant technical skill training conducted by qualified personnel. (see Remarks 6) Preferred Attributes: 1. Fluent in spoken Cantonese, ability to speak English and Putonghua. 2. Good PC skills & knowledge in common softwares such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other MS Office applications. 3. Self-motivated and able to work independently under pressure. Remarks: For Serving HA Staff 1. Serving staff who have completed F.3/ S.3 or equivalent and have care related experience within HA may also be considered. 2. The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for 1-3 year(s) depending on his/her existing employment terms. 3. The offer of salary to serving employees upon changes in appointment will be determined based on the remuneration package/employment terms of the staff concerned and prevailing policies. For External Applicants 4. Selected candidate will be offered contract terms for 1-3 year(s). 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon satisfactory completion of contract. 5. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA. For All Applicants 6. Applicants who do not meet entry requirement 2 , if find suitable, will be employed to undergo at least 6 months’ on the job training. During the training period, they will be appointed as Patient Care Assistant IIIA with monthly salary of $14,958. After the training period of at least 6 months and passing the end of training assessment on skills and with satisfactory performance, they will be appointed as Patient Care Assistant II with monthly salary of $17,888. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training. 7. Job rotation would be arranged for the selected candidate if required. 8. May be required to perform 24-hour shift duty and to perform duties during typhoons, rainstorms and other emergencies. 9. Required to wear uniform and other personal protective equipment. 10. Selected candidate will be posted in Tuen Mun Hospital and may be required to work in another work location to meet service needs of the HA. 11.
