Description: Rank : Patient Care Assistant II Hospital : Radiology & Imaging Department, Kowloon Central Cluster Pay : HK$ 17 ,888 – HK$ 22 ,357 per month (Please note Remarks 5) Key Responsibilities Assist clinical staff during radiological examinations and procedures. Assist in transfer of patients before and after examinations. Assist in providing patient care services, observation, monitoring of patient’s general condition, in order to ensure patient safety and comfort. Check and prepare medical consumables, equipment and materials for examinations and restock after use. Assist in the maintenance of cleanliness and tidiness of the examination area and the equipments. Check patient’s identity before enter the procedure room. Assist to give clear instructions and explanation to patient before examination and provide personal care to patient throughout the radiological procedures. Perform tidying, cleansing, disinfection, sterilization of the equipment, accessories and trolley after exams and procedures; routine environmental cleansing and daily simple QC if required. Handle enquiries and communicate with clinical staff and clients. Perform X-ray film filing, film loan/return procedures and film processing. Assist to keep inventory record of stores and supplies and periodic stock taking. Perform general clerical and reception duties in examination areas if required, including operation of computers, data input, record keeping etc. Perform any other job related tasks and duties as assigned by supervisors. Entry Requirements Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent. (Please note Remarks 1) Completed structured departmental training. (Please note Remarks 5) Preferred Attributes / Exposure : With work experience in hospital . Possess a certificate of healthcare or patient-care training. Fluency in spoken Cantonese, good written English and Chinese. Able to work under pressure, good interpersonal skills, self-motivated and with a strong sense of responsibility. Knowledge of basic computer operations and data processing. Remarks For Serving HA Staff Serving staff who have completed F.3/ S.3 or equivalent and have 2 years’ care related experience within HA may also be considered. The candidate selected will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for up to 1-3 year(s) depending on his/her existing employment terms. The offer of salary for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be determined based on the remuneration package/employment terms of the staff concerned and prevailing policies. For External Applicants Appointment will be on contract terms for up to 1-3 year(s). 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA. For All Applicants The selected applicant who does not complete the training that mentioned in “Entry Requirements” above will be required to undergo at least 6 months’ on-the-job training. During training, the selected candidate will be appointed as Patient Care Assistant IIIA with monthly salary of H K$14,958 . Upon completion of the training, passing of the assessment and together with satisfactory performance, the applicant will be appointed as Patient Care Assistant II with monthly salary of HK$17 ,888. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training. Required to work shifts and irregular hours, during typhoons, rainstorms and other emergencies. Required to wear uniform, N-95 mask and other personal protective devices if needed. Selected candidate(s) will be posted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital / Hong Kong Buddhist Hospital and may be required to work in another work location to meet service needs of the HA.
