Description: Hospital : Yan Chai Hospital Pay : HK$24,518 - HK$29,290 ( HGPS point 9 to 12 ) per month (including Monthly Allowance) [See Remark 2] Key Responsibilities: 1. To assist in the preparation of document related to planned maintenance and corrective maintenance, and services provided by outside contractors on facility enhancement. 2. To supervise the maintenance, repair, alteration addition and improvement works carried out by outside contractors to the Hospital. 3. To perform and lead the artisans/operation assistants of hospital maintenance team on the works of planned and corrective maintenance to the Hospital. 4. Liaising with parties concerned for the expedient provision of services. 5. To assist in the procurement of spare parts for the facilities maintenance and control of repair stores. 6. Responsible for the good working conditions of hospital equipment and plants such as lifts, medical gas and vacuums plant, emergency generator, electrical switchboard, mortuary cabinets, fire services installations and alarm system and annual government licenses renewal. 7. To attend and witness for the testing & commissioning works on installations, plants and equipment. 8. As on call officer to handle repair services as designated by supervisor. 9. To perform shift duty and be on duty during typhoon and other emergencies. 10. Take up other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Entry Requirements: 1. a) A Certificate in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong Technical College / Hong Kong Technical Institute / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent; OR b) 5 years of relevant working experience as skilled worker in the field of Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; OR c) Completed a recognized Technician Apprenticeship in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. 2. A knowledge of English and Chinese equivalent to Form 3 (before 2012) / Secondary 3 standard. 3. Obtained valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card). Preferable attributes: 1. Registered electrical worker, class B, as registered in the list of EMSD. 2. F.5 / S.5 or above. 3. Have 5 years’ experience in related fields is an advantage. 4. Higher Diploma/Higher Certificate in Building Studies, Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 5. Possession of certificate of Class II(A): Automatic Fire Tube Boilers and Steam Receivers issued under the provisions of the Boilers and Pressure Vessels Ordinance (Chapter 56). Remarks: For Serving HA Staff 1. The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment up to 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee will be offered contract employment with an up to 15% total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity, subject to satisfactory completion of the contract. Serving permanent employee will be offered fixed term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. 2. The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be determined based on the remuneration package / employment terms of the staff concerned and prevailing policies. For External Applicants 3. Appointment will be on contract terms up to 3 years . Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon satisfactory completion of contract. 4. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA. For All Applicants 5.
