Description: Rank : Hospital Foreman Office : Supporting Services, Administrative Services Department, Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (HKCH), Kowloon Central Cluster Pay : HK$21,615 to HK$27,564 (HGPS Point 7 to 11) per month including Monthly Allowance (See Remarks 1) Key Responsibilities: Assist the Hospital Administrators to carry out Support Services functions / services as listed below: Supervise and coordinate general supporting services including domestic / portering / transportation / linen and uniform exchange services, waste management, catering, security and car park management, landscape and gardening management, mortuary operation (including dead body transfer and claims), green management, environmental hygiene, etc. Monitor staff discipline and performance and arrange staff orientation and training. Handle emergencies, workplace violence and other ad hoc incidents in the hospital. Implement occupational safety and health programs. Enforce the no-smoking policy and the hospital regulations. Liaise with other department heads and service contractors in the day-to-day provision of services and to monitor service quality regularly. Monitor and review performance of the outsourced service contractors. Prepare duty roster and management reports. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor. Entry R e quirements: (a) 3 years’ satisfactory service in the HA, or (b) 2 years’ supervisory experience in hospitals, hotels, cleansing service, facilities management or other related services/ industries. Have shown the potential to lead and supervise staff. Preferred Attributes/Exposure: Ability to read and write Chinese and English, and speak fluent Cantonese. Good knowledge of computer applications, e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese Word Processing. Experience in staff supervision and management. Holder of valid driving license (Vehicle Classification Codes 1, 2 & 4). Holder of valid security guard permit. Experience in domestic services / security service / fleet management / linen and laundry service. Good communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills. Remarks: For Serving HA Staff The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies. The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for up to 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee will be offered contract employment with up to 15% total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance. Serving permanent employee will be offered fixed term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. Staff in the Health Care Assistant/ Artisan/ Ganger/ Property Attendant/ Ward Attendant/ Workman I/ Workman II grades who are on civil service terms, if selected for appointment, will be appointed under the Shadow Promotion Scheme. For External Applicants Appointment will be on contract terms for up to 3 years. Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA. For All Applicants Required to work shifts, perform ‘on-call’ duties, and work outside normal working hours, on public holidays and during typhoon, rainstorm and other emergencies when necessary. May be required to wear N-95 mask and Personal Protective Equipment when discharging duties. May be required to live in departmental quarters. The renewal / extension of appointment will be subject to service needs, availability of funding and job performance. May be required to work in another work location to meet service needs of the HA.
