Description: Issue Date: 8 February 2021 Extended on 22 February 2021 Rank: Senior Executive Officer Office: Bureau Support, Strategy & Planning Division, HA Head Office Pay HK$88,327 to HK$131,423 per month (including Monthly Allowance) [HMPS point 9 to 19] (See remarks 3) Job The post-holder will be seconded to the Research Office, Food and Health Bureau to undertake research grants review and management activities, as well as review of scientific literature, with main duties as follows: 1. Critically appraise grant applications and research reports to the research funds managed by the Research Fund Secretariat. 2. Provide scientific and logistic support of the operation of research funds. 3. Manage and coordinate all grants related matters (including but not limited to monitoring the progress of funded research projects, and reviewing and processing of progress reports) to ensure the smooth operation of the Research Fund Secretariat. 4. Provide support to outcome evaluation and dissemination of research results. 5. Organise publicity activities of research funds. 6. Conduct literature review on health topics to assist policy formulation. Requirements 1. A university degree or equivalent. 2. At least 7 years of post-qualification working experience in public health, health services, advanced medical and clinical research, and experience in reviewing relevant grant applications and reports. 3. Fluency in Cantonese and English, and good English and Chinese writing skills. 4. Self-motivated, responsible with good interpersonal and communication abilities. Preferred Attributes/Exposure 1. A PhD in health sciences or related subjects. 2. Experience in working with Government research funding bodies. Remarks 1. May be required to work in another work location to meet service needs of the HA. For Serving HA Staff 2. Selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee will be offered contract employment with an up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. Serving permanent employee will be offered a fixed term appointment with a reversion clause according to the prevailing policies. 3. The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies. For External Applicants 4. Appointment will be on contract terms for a period of 3 years. Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. 5.
