Description: Office : Department of Medicine, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Pay : HK$17,888 – HK$22,357 per month (Please note the Remarks 4) Key Responsibilities: 1. Assist Nurses and Allied Health professionals to: - carry out screenings and assessments for patients. - prepare and assist to conduct educational / treatment activities to patients. - prepare teaching materials for patient education. 2. Compile statistics and data input for managerial and clinical management purposes. 3. Perform patient registration, appointment booking, enquiry and telephone follow up. 4. Perform any other related duties as assigned by supervisors. Entry Requirements: 1. Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent. 2. Completion of in-service training program. (Please note the Remarks 4) Preferred Attributes / Exposure: 1. Proficient in PC applications, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing. 2. Good command of English and Chinese, written and spoken. 3. Responsible, self-motivated, outgoing and able to work independently. 4. Tertiary educated is preferred. 5. Practical knowledge and experience in SPSS usage. 6. Relevant experience or training in healthcare such as Health Care Assistant. 7. Good communication and interpersonal skills. 8. Great adaptability / flexibility and able to handle multi-tasks. 9. Mature, caring and interested to serve and communicate with patients. Remarks : For Serving HA Staff 1. The candidate selected will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for up to 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. The offer of salary for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be determined based on the remuneration package/employment terms of the staff concerned and prevailing policies. Serving permanent employee will be offered a fixed term appointment with a reversion clause according to the prevailing policies. For External Applicants 2. Appointment will be on contract terms for up to 3 years. 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. 3. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA. For All Applicants 4. The selected applicant who has not completed the training mentioned in “Entry Requirements” above will be required to undergo an at least 6 months’ in-service training programme to be arranged by the hospital. During training, the selected candidate will be appointed as Patient Care Assistant IIIA with monthly salary of HK$14,958. Upon completion of the training, passing of the assessment and together with satisfactory performance, the applicant will be appointed as Patient Care Assistant II with monthly salary of HK$17,888. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training. 5. Required to wear uniform whilst on duty. 6. Required to wear N-95 mask and other personal protective devices if needed. 7. Required to work shift and to report for duty during typhoons, rainstorms and other emergencies. 8. May be required to work in another work location to meet service needs of the HA. 9. Employment may be renewed depending on operational needs and satisfactory performance of the appointee. 10.
