Entry Requirements:

(a)Candidates should have attained Secondary 5, or equivalent; and

(b)Candidates should have knowledge in the application of common business software.
Note 1:
Candidates who are invited for interview will be invited to participate in a Chinese and English word processing speed test before the interview. Candidates who attain Chinese word processing speed of 20 words per minute and English word processing speed of 30 words per minute will have an advantage.
Note 2:
Where a large number of candidates meet the specified entry requirements, shortlisting criteria will be applied to select the better qualified candidates for further processing. Under these circumstances, only shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend the interview.


(a)To assist in undertaking duties relating to voter registration or the preparation and conduct of general elections;

(b)To handle public telephone enquiries and complaints, and input data;
©To undertake general duties and provide office and warehouse support;
(d)To perform manual work and any other related support as and when required; and
(e)To perform outdoor work as required.
May be required to work overtime and work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Terms of Appointment:

Successful candidate will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for around 3-6 months. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the Department and the performance of the candidate.

(g)Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s website ( Applications submitted in person or by post should reach the below enquiry address on or before 22 February 2021. Please mark the post being applied “General Assistant” on the envelope. To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to this Department and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate.
