Entry Requirements:

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor’s degree in Education (General Studies), Science, Engineering or Technology-related discipline, or equivalent [See Note (ii)];

(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent [see Note (ii)];
© Met the language proficiency requirement of ‘Level 2’ results in the two language papers [Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE)] in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent [See Note (iii)];
(d) At least 6 years’ relevant post-qualification [as specified in (a) and (b)] experience in teaching General Studies in primary schools, science or technology education subjects in secondary schools [See Note (iv)]; and
(e) Preference will be given to candidates who possess a Hong Kong higher degree (e.g. a second/higher degree) in a discipline relevant to Science, Engineering, Technology, Education, School Improvement and Leadership or Education Management, or equivalent, as well as experienced in implementing curriculum development and projects in relation to General Studies or science subjects and promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education, Moral, Civic and National Education or values education [See Note (ii) and (iv)].

Duties:

(a) To develop, implement and evaluate the General Studies (GS) curriculum, as well as promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education and curriculum interface between Key Stages in schools;

(b) To develop and produce curriculum resources for implementing the GS curriculum and STEM education in schools;
© To plan and organise professional development programmes and activities in support of the GS curriculum, STEM education and related education;
(d) To plan and conduct curriculum development visits and focus group interviews;
(e) To participate in related research and development projects;
(f) To liaise and cooperate with other government departments, tertiary institutions and relevant organisations; (g) To assist in the professional and administrative duties of the Kindergarten and Primary Section; and
(h) To undertake any other duties assigned.

Terms of Appointment:

Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 2.5 years.
