Description: Hospital : Princess Margaret Hospital Pay : HK$15,751 - HK$24,518 ( HGPS Point 2 - 9 ) per month including Monthly Allowance [Please see Remarks item 3] Key Responsibilities: To operate the Hospital’s telephone system (PABX) and all related telecommunication system. To answer internal and external telephone calls and enquiries from patients and / or the public; and convey to the appropriate personnel correctly and efficiently. To disseminate the important and urgent messages to an individual and / or a group of designated personnel through the telecommunication systems during contingency situations in an efficient and orderly manner. To monitor the Hospital’s alarm panels related to telecommunication system; and report immediately to the appropriate personnel on duty if the alarm(s) is/are activated. To perform the clerical duties in Telephone Operator Office such as consolidating and compiling the data. To perform 24 hours shift duties including overnight shift. To perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Entry Requirements: (a) Passes in 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination including English Language (Syllabus B), Chinese Language and Mathematics, or equivalent. OR (b) 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education attaining the level specified below: Level 2 in English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics; AND Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects/ “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects/ Grade E in Other Language subjects; or equivalent. Ability to perform typing, word processing and/or Chinese word processing. Preferable Attributes / Exposure: Knowledge of common office automation (e.g. operation of fax machine) and PC applications. Knowledge of other dialects (e.g. Mandarin and English) in the light of individual job requirement. Good interpersonal skills. With good knowledge in answering telephone enquiry and receptionist duties. Good communication and customer services skills. Relevant experience. Remarks: For Serving HA Staff Serving staff who have completed F.5/S.5 or equivalent and have 2 years’ clerical experience within HA may also be considered. The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment up to 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee will be offered contract employment with an up to 15% total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity, subject to satisfactory completion of the contract. Serving permanent employee will be offered a fixed term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies. For External Applicants Appointment will be on contract terms appointment up to 3 years . Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of contract gratuity will be offered, subject to satisfactory completion of the contract. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply.
