Entry Requirements:

Candidates should-

(a) have satisfied in full the academic requirements for Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) (Civil Discipline), or equivalent; [see Note (1)];
(b) have completed the formal training pre-approved by the HKIE (Civil Discipline), or equivalent, or have at least five years’ post-academic qualification experience in the field of Civil Engineering at a professional level [see Note (2)]; and
© meet the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Note (3)].


Successful candidate(s) will be assigned to specific offices of the Civil Engineering and Development Department and mainly be deployed on assisting professionals / senior professionals in the design and supervision of the construction, operation and maintenance of civil engineering works undertaken by Government departments.

Terms of Appointment:

Successful candidates will be appointed on one year non-civil service contract terms.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
