Description: Rank: Works Supervisor II Office: Facilities Management Department, Kowloon Hospital Pay: HK$24,518 - HK$29,290 (HGPS Point 9-12) per month including Monthly Allowance (See Remarks 1) Job Responsibilities: 1. Supervise a team of technicians for the timely and smooth implementation of day-to-day building maintenance works. 2. Assist in preparation of inspection and progress reports on day-to-day building maintenance works / small value minor capital projects and other facility management works. 3. Monitor the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) 4. Check standard of design, materials and workmanship against the user and contract requirements and other recognized standards on works assigned. 5. Assist in preparation of purchase requisition, control of stores, monthly report(s) and cash flow. 6. Assist in handling work requisition, complaint and prepare report. 7. Conduct daily site inspections. 8. E nhance quality, safety and environmental performance on site. 9. Liaise with users, work agents, contractors and all external work agents on all matters relating to users’ requirements, access, disturbance and programme etc. for efficient execution of works on site. 10. Any other duties as assigned by the supervisors. Entry Requirements: 1. a) A Certificate in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong Technical College / Hong Kong Technical Institute / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent; OR b) 5 years of relevant working experience as skilled worker in the field of Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; OR c) Completed a recognized Technician Apprenticeship in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. 2. A knowledge of English and Chinese equivalent to Form 3 (before 2012) / Secondary 3 standard. 3. Obtained valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card). Preferable Attributes / Exposure: 1. Being a Licensed Plumber under Water Supplies Department or a Registered Electrical Worker with Class “A” or above under Electrical and Mechanical Services Department 2. Diploma / Certificate or above in Building Studies, Building Surveying, Building Services Engineering, Facility Management, Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering or other construction related disciplines. 3. Experienced in health care projects. 4. Self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently. 5. Good interpersonal skills. 6. Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office including both Chinese and English word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. 7. Have good knowledge in site safety Remarks: For Serving HA Staff 1. The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies 2. The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for 1 – 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee will be offered contract employment with up to 15% total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance. Serving permanent employee will be offered fixed term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. For External Applicants 3. Appointment will be on contract terms for 1 to 3 years. Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end of-contract gratuity upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance. 4. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply.
