Description: (Issue date: 21.1.2021 Extended on 3.2.2021) No. of vacancies: 3 Pay HK$14 8,432 – HK$ 171,014 (HGPS point 45-49) per month (including Monthly Allowance) (See remarks 3) Key Responsibilities 1. Provide specialist services. 2. Supervise Residents undergoing specialist training. 3. Undertake administrative work. 4. Undergo continuing medical education and professional development. Entry Requirements 1. A qualification registrable in Hong Kong under the Medical Registration Ordinance; and 2. Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine ( Anaesthesiology ) or equivalent; and 3. Registered in the Specialist Register in the relevant specialty of the Medical Council of Hong Kong. Preferred Attributes / Exposure Staff members in the rank are expected to meet the 4 core competencies set for the Associate Consultant post. They are : 1. Functional competency. 2. Personal competency. 3. People and team competency. 4. Organization effectiveness. Remarks : For Serving HA Staff 1 . The selected candidate(s) will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee may be offered contract employment with an up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity, subject to satisfactory completion of the contract. Serving permanent employee will be offered a fixed term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. 2 . Senior Medical & Health Officer, if qualified and selected for appointment, may elect to convert to Associate Consultant or remain in his/her current employment terms. 3 . The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employee will be made in accordance with prevailing policies. 4 . Staff in the medical grade who are on civil service terms will, if selected, be appointed under the Shadow Promotion Scheme. For External Applicants 5 . Appointment will be on renewable contract terms for an initial period of 3 years. Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon satisfactory completion of contract . 6 . Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA. For All Applicants 7 . Candidate(s) who have not acquired the entry requirements under 2 and 3 but who have passed the exit examination and completed the necessary specialist training requirements, if found suitable for appointment, may be appointed to the post subject to their production of the required qualifications i.e. FHKAM and specialist registration within 12 months after appointment to the post. 8 .
