Description: Rank : Electrical Technician Office : Clinical Oncology Department, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Pay : HK$27,564 to HK$50,343 (HGPS Point 11 to 23) per month including Monthly Allowance (See Remarks 2) Key Responsibilities: 1. Provide technical services and support to the medical physics division within the Cluster. 2. Provide preventive and emergency maintenance services for radio diagnostic, radiotherapy, electronic equipment, computer server and network systems. 3. Assist Physicists to calibrate and perform dosimetric measurements and quality assurance checks on radiological equipment. 4. Assist Physicists to perform quality assurance checks on patient treatment plans. 5. Assist Physicists to perform radiation survey and radiological protection measurements for patients, staff and members of the public. 6. Assist Physicists to perform computer / electronic / electrical / mechanical applications in radiological and related fields. 7. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor(s). Entry Requirements 1. A Higher Certificate or a Higher Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent from a polytechnic or technical institute in Hong Kong or equivalent. 2. 3 years’ relevant post-qualification experience in equipment maintenance. 3. Knowledge of English at a standard equivalent to Grade E or above in the Hong Kong Certification of Education Examination (Syllabus B) or Level 2 or above in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education. Preferred Attributes / Exposure: 1. Sound knowledge in computer networking, server management & hands-on experience in programming. 2. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting complex electronic equipment. 3. Good communication skills. 4. Ability in problem-solving and decision-making. Remarks: For Serving HA Staff 1. The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for 1 to 3 year(s) depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee may be offered contract employment with an up to 15% total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. 2. The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employee upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies. Staff in the X-ray Mechanic grade who are on civil service terms will, if selected, be appointed under the Shadow Promotion Scheme. For External Applicants 4. Appointment will be on contract terms for 1 to 3 year(s).
