Description: Assistant Project and Maintenance Manager Rank: Assistant Building Services Inspector Office: Facility Management Department, Kwong Wah Hospital Pay: HK$27,564 to HK$50,343 (HGPS point 11 to 23) per month including Monthly Allowance (See Remarks 2) Key Responsibilities: Supervise a team of technical staff, external consultant and contractors in managing, executing, and reporting of day-to-day maintenance works to assigned institutions in Kowloon Central Cluster. Handle the maintenance and improvement works for Medical Gas Pipeline System (MGPS) in hospital. Assist in the planning issue of technical aspects including handover inspection, commissioning and decommissioning for Kwong Wah Hospital Redevelopment Project. Monitor the progress and quality of works. Coordinate with users on their requirements and report on completion. Coordinate with the Safety Officers of contractors, Safety Auditor of consultants and other parties in the monitoring matters related to safety and health. Prepare, update and compile defects and outstanding work list after the completion of project up to the end of Defect Liability Period. Provide support to procurement and supplies related activities such as sourcing and inventory management. Certify work completion and prepare batch payment to contractors. Assist in the analysis of claims. Work according to on-call/duty roster, attend emergency calls and perform typhoon duties. Supervise and train junior staff. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s). Entry Requirements: 1. A Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Services Engineering or Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or Building Studies from Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong Technical College / Hong Kong Technical Institute / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education; or equivalent. 2. (a) Grade E or above in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in HKCEE; OR (b) Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSE, or equivalent. 3. At least 3 years of relevant experience such as building services installation works and/or building projects after attaining the required academic qualification. 4. Obtained valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card). Preferable Attributes / Exposure: Higher Certificate or above in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or Building related subjects. Holder of Authorized Person (MGPS) with at least 3 years’ working experience in supervising the operation, maintenance, repair and alteration work of the medical gas pipeline system(s). Relevant working experience in hospital or healthcare sector, and sound experience in commissioning and decommissioning of hospital redevelopment project. Experience in performing duties under the requirements of Computer-based Maintenance Management System (CMMS); ISO14001, ISO9001, OHSAS18001 is an advantage. Registered Electrical Worker. Knowledge in “AutoCAD” or other associated computer applications. Good leadership skill, inter-personal communication and presentation skills. Responsible, self-motivated and able to work independently under minimum supervision. Outgoing, able to work under pressure and stressful situation, including crises. Remarks: For Serving HA Staff The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for 1 to 3 year(s) depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee will be offered contract employment with up to 15% total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance. Serving permanent employee will be offered fixed term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies For External Applicants Appointment will be on contract terms for 1 to 3 year(s). Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end of-contract gratuity upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply.
