PLUG is an award-winning independent Marketing and Communications Agency based in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. We are looking for a Public Relations Senior Account Manager with at least 5 years of relevant PR experience, excellent media and influencer relations and client management proficiency. The right candidate will be bilingual with native-level proficiency in spoken and written Cantonese (Traditional Chinese) and great business level English language.

A Senior Account Manager at PLUG takes responsibility for delivering campaigns against set objectives, identifies new business opportunities and serves as a valued team member and resource for clients, junior team members and all external stakeholders.

This role involves:

Day-to-day account and client management (at least 5 accounts)
Setting of client KPIs and managing the delivery of agreed KPIs in partnership with the Account Directors
Management of regular client team meetings, ensuring key milestones are met and projects are being delivered
Thinking proactively about the clients’ business
Demonstrating understanding of the categories in which the client operates
Media strategy planning and media relations
Creative idea generation and execution
Proposal writing
Personal time management and management of junior team members
Supporting role on new business
Supporting role on team training
Having fun – and helping others enjoy their work, too!

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Management and Professional Skills

Contribute to the strategic development of project and long-term media campaigns for all designated clients in partnership with the senior client lead (ADs and/or MD).
Effectively work with and manage client teams to ensure that work is being delivered on time and at a high level
Leverage key stakeholder relationships e.g. clients, media, influencers, celebrities, etc.
Develop the professional and management skills of junior team members; provide ongoing feedback
Lend particular skills, capabilities or knowledge in problem solving on behalf of clients or teams
Ensure brainstorms for all designated clients are thoroughly planned to create the best creative environment, engaging a wide-range of expertise from across various teams
Lead media engagement for designated clients, demonstrating the ability to secure key leading coverage and teaching these skills to junior team members
In partnership with the senior client lead, develop client KPIs and take responsibility for the delivery of these KPIs working closely with team members
Be a proficient writer across all styles of writing including press releases, speeches, scripts, newsletters.
Be hands-on in the role of an online community manager, including moderation and developing content calendars
Coordination and management of media events
Management of photoshoots & video production
Provide leadership in driving a positive work environment
Be a positive role model and mentor for others

  1. Financial/Administrative

Manage supplier invoices
Proactively identify potential concerns and highlight them to the senior client lead (AD and/or MD) to overcome any upcoming potential issues

  1. Business Development

Identify clients with the potential for growth
Identify and develop new business opportunities and take a role in new business proposals
Maintain client satisfaction, resulting in client retention

  1. People Management

Provide counsel to junior team members and give feedback on their work

  1. Initiative and General Management

Maintain knowledge of the latest thinking and practices in public relations and apply these to the clients as required
Engage with journalists of the relevant media to maintain their understanding of how the media works, new trends and apply these to the client as required.
Regularly provide leadership in driving a positive and supportive work culture
Be a positive role model for all others
