The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong. There is now an excellent opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the following position:
Manager (Market Outreach)(ESG)
Collaborate with banks and other financial institutions:
Identify and develop green finance projects with substantial GHG reduction impact;
Design and implement advisory service programs to assist financial institutions in developing green finance programs. This will include but not limited to green transformation strategy development, green finance product design, risk management and partnership development with various service providers; and
Advise on potential green finance policy / process improvements.
Engage with project developers, climate-related think-tanks and vendors:
Direct market assessments of specific promising segments of equipment; and
Formulate and implement strategy to strengthen the capacities of project partners.
Work with partners to prepare case studies, research papers, awareness-raising materials and public presentations for a variety of audiences (financial institutes, industrial players, public authorities, etc.), and manage the development of website contents
Contribute to the development and organisation of global climate finance and knowledge-sharing events
Assist in relationship management with program partners, government agencies, donors and other stakeholders to perform market outreach activities
University degree in business, finance or related fields
At least 3 years of relevant work experience in corporate banking or climate finance, preferably in both climate and financial sectors
Good business acumen and experience in bringing programs to successful completion
Experience in working with senior banking and government officials, and in driving and influencing change in policies
Knowledge of climate finance, green finance, sustainable development, banking and capital markets preferred
Proven ability to work in an international environment; good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal / external clients, and promote collaboration in a multi-cultural environment
Good analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, and present creative and practical solutions
Good organisational, planning and project management skills
Highly motivated, energetic and a good team player; attention to detail and quality
Proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin; good presentation skills especially in interpreting and presenting data
Well-versed in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Willingness and ability to travel and work across time zones
(Candidates with less experience may be considered for an offer of appointment at Assistant Manager level.)
Conditions of service
Successful candidate will be appointed on fixed contract terms.
A competitive remuneration package will be offered. There is flexibility to take account of additional experience and qualifications.
