Description: Rank : Works Supervisor II Office : Facility Management Department, Kowloon Hospital Pay : HK$24,518 - HK$29,290 (HGPS Point 9-12) per month including Monthly Allowance (See Remarks 2) Job Responsibilities: The appointee will assist a team of professionals in supervising and managing the execution of minor capital works projects or day-to-day maintenance works. 1. Assist in supervising and monitoring consultants and contractors in managing, executing, and reporting progress of minor improvement works / maintenance works; 2. Assist in checking standard of design, materials and workmanship against the user and contract requirements and other recognized standards on works assigned; 3. Assist in handling work requisition, complaint and prepare report; 4. Assist in preparation of inspection and progress reports on minor capital projects and cash flow; 5. Conduct daily site inspections; 6. Assist in enhancing quality, safety and environmental performance on site; 7. Liaise with users, works agents, and contractors on all matters relating to users’ requirements, access, disturbance, programme etc. for efficient execution of works on site; 8. Supervise all technical staff to assure the standard of performance and quality of services; 9. Assist in supervising and monitoring work order system including work order classification, distribution, completion, verification and documentation; 10. Provide emergency on-call service and work outside office hours in case of emergencies and when required; and 11. Any other duties as assigned by the supervisors. Entry Requirements: 1 a) A Certificate in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong Technical College / Hong Kong Technical Institute / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent; OR b) 5 years of relevant working experience as skilled worker in the field of Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering OR c) Completed a recognized Technician Apprenticeship in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. 2 A knowledge of English and Chinese equivalent to Form 3 (before 2012) / Secondary 3 standard. 3 Obtained valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card). Preferable Attributes / Exposure: 1. Higher Diploma/Higher Certificate in Building Studies, Surveying, Facility Management, Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering or equivalent. 2. Have at least 2 years’ experience in construction works, preferably in health care projects. 3. Good report writing skills. 4. Good interpersonal skills. 5. Self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently. 6. Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office including both Chinese and English word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. 7. Have good knowledge in site safety. Remarks: For Serving HA Staff 1. The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment up to 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee will be offered contract employment with up to 15% total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance. Serving permanent employee will be offered fixed term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. 2. The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies. For External Applicants 3. Appointment will be on contract terms up to 3 years. Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end of-contract gratuity upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance. 4. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply.
