Description: Rank: Clerk III Office: Administrative Services Department, Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (HKCH), Kowloon Central Cluster Pay : HK$15,751 to HK$ 24,518 (HGPS Point 2 to 9) per month including Monthly Allowance (See Remarks 1) Key Responsibilities: To provide administrative and clerical support for the daily operation of the department. To support maintenance of the equipment and furniture in the department. To handle quarters’ booking, enquiries and correspondences. To act as receptionist and perform shift duty for counter services, and provide information and answer enquiries from staff, patients and the public. To handle feedback and complaints independently. To perform data input and analysis, report compilation, documentation and records keeping. To compile and analyze statistics, file and retrieve documents, and search for useful information. To perform 24-hour shift duty. To perform other duties as assigned by supervisors. Entry R e quirements: (a) Passes in 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination including English Language (Syllabus B), Chinese Language and Mathematics; or equivalent. OR (b) 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education attaining the level Specified below: Level 2 in English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics; and Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects/ “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects/ Grade E in Other Language subjects; or equivalent. Ability to perform typing, word processing and Chinese word processing. Preferred Attributes / Exposure: Knowledge of common office automation (e.g. operation of fax machine) and PC applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chinese word processing). Knowledge of other dialects (e.g. Mandarin) in the light of individual job requirement. Good interpersonal and communication skills with experience in customer service. Be responsible, self-motivated and able to work independently. With experience in Administrative Services (e.g. General Administration, Staff Quarters, Enquiry Counter, etc.). Remarks: For Serving HA Staff The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies. The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for up to 1-3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee will be offered contract employment with up to 15% total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance. Serving permanent employee will be offered fixed term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. Serving staff who have completed F.5/S.5 or equivalent and have 2 years’ clerical experience within HA may also be considered. For External Applicants Appointment will be on contract terms for up to 1-3 years. Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA.
