Description: Office Patient Resource Centre, Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, Kowloon Central Cluster Pay HK$35,985 to HK$79,606 (HGPS Point 16 to 33) per month including Monthly Allowance (See Remarks 2) Key Responsibilities Assist in the development, operation and administrative work of the Patient Resource Centre. Develop, coordinate and monitor hospital volunteer services. Plan and organize various kinds of patient / carer support and empowerment programs. Facilitate the development & implementation of community engagement and partnership project. Work with multi-disciplinary health care professionals to plan and deliver the patient / carer support initiatives as well as evaluating its effectiveness. Perform any job-related duties assigned by senior. Entry Requirements 1. (a) A degree in Social Work from a local university, or equivalent. OR (b) A degree from a local university, or equivalent and have successfully completed a one-year post-graduate course in Social Work at a local university, or equivalent. OR (c) A degree from a local university, or equivalent and have successfully completed a two-year post-graduate course in Social Work or possess a Master’s degree in Social Work from a local university, or equivalent. 2. Registration with and a valid registration certificate issued by the Hong Kong Social Workers Registration Board. 3. (a) Grade E in English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent. OR (b) Level 2 in English Language and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education, or equivalent. 4. Fluency in written English and Chinese as well as spoken English and Cantonese. Preferred Attributes/Exposure Working experience in Patient Resources Centre/ Centre-based Services for family, children and youth. Commitment to patient care. Strong drive to help and utilize various social work approaches in patient care. Competency in service development & management. Proficient in interpersonal and communication skills. Empathy. Remarks For HA Serving Staff The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for 1-3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving contract employee will be offered contract employment with an up to 15% total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance. Serving permanent employee will be offered a fixed term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies. For External Applicants Appointment will be on contract terms for 1-3 years. Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA.
